#Lyric Iris-Goo Goo Dolls

And I’d give up forever to touch you
‘Cause I know that you feel me somehow
You’re the closest to heaven that I’ll ever be
And I don’t want to go home right now
And all I can taste is this moment
And all I can breathe is your life
And sooner or later it’s over
I just don’t wanna miss you tonight
And I don’t want the world to see me
‘Cause I don’t think that they’d understand
When everything’s meant to be broken
I just want you to know who I am
And you can’t fight the tears that ain’t coming
Or the moment of truth in your lies
When everything feels like the movies
Yeah you bleed just to know you’re alive
And I don’t want the world to see me
‘Cause I don’t think that they’d understand
When everything’s meant to be broken
I just want you to know who I am
And I don’t want the world to see me
‘Cause I don’t think that they’d understand
When everything’s meant to be broken
I just want you to know who I am
And I don’t want the world to see me
‘Cause I don’t think that they’d understand
When everything’s meant to be broken
I just want you to know who I am
I just want you to know who I am
I just want you to know who I am
I just want you to know who I am
This song came out in 1998. But it feels like it just came out. There was something about 90’s music that kind of just spoke to you. Nothing like some of the stuff they allow on the radio now. (I have very intense feelings about music)
The song appeared on the movie City of Angles starring Nicholas Cage. The song is initially about an invisible identity that no one understands. Te individual finds his true love. And he wants his true love to know that he exists. That she is the only one in the world that understands him and loves him.
I remember listening to this song since I was a kid. Back then I didn’t understand the meaning of the song until now.

          • Oh yea!! I can’t choose between the 80s and 90s, as to which is my favorite. Both decades layed the foundation to some of today’s music…. that young ones think are new … nope!!

          • If the lyrics speak to me I’m in love. Most music now days don’t have meaningful lyrics which is sad. And there’s no more alliteration like usher I adore him but you look at my way…he never specifically said he wanted sex….it was all story telling it was sexy….his last album…there was no mystery no story. And that’s how most music is now. I feel bad for this upcoming generation. Music use to have such great stories and you had to decipher the lyrics

          • stay tuned. I plan on posting a lyric post with the music video and my thoughts every day this month. I swear by musical therapy. Music truly speaks the words that I am too afraid to mutter. 🙂 Thank you for following my blog tho. It truly means a lot to me that someone is interested enough to follow. If you ever see anything you love, please feel free to share anywhere. 🙂 I encourage all sharing. The more we talk about things, the more we spread a message the sooner we can break the stigma.

          • Today’s music can sometimes provide nice beats for exercising, but it all sounds the same to me. Although I do love Adele. Sad songs, but her voice is amazing. Some people can’t stand her music, but it’s all subjective. 😀

          • I agree!! Like all of those artists and 30 Seconds to Mars. It’s a random group, but I like it. Country, hip hop, pop, rock, etc I’m musically diverse too💜
